The hike starts from the captivating hilltop of Nagarkot, situated at over 2100m, following a 1.30-hour drive from Kathmandu. Your guide will pick you up from your hotel early in the morning (4:45 AM) to embark on the drive to Nagarkot. Nagarkot is famous for its sunrise view, and if you wish to witness it (this package includes breakfast in Nagarkot), it is recommended to arrive as early as possible.
If you are not interested in the sunrise view, you can start the trip at 8:00 AM. The journey takes around 45 minutes to reach Nagarkot from the city center (Thamel). On a clear day, you can witness the sun rays touching the Himalayas, including the striking peaks of Mt. Everest and Langtang range, and other alluring mountain summits. After celebrating the incredible sunrise and mountain view from the view tower, we walk or drive back to the restaurant for breakfast. The hike commences at 8:30 AM, and we will be exploring the area for a few hours. The tranquility of the surroundings, cool breeze, and mountain panorama will captivate all types of travelers in Nagarkot. Every step of your walk becomes meaningful, and you'll truly begin to appreciate the incredible natural blessings. Spending one or two nights in Nagarkot will be the best option to escape the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu.
