Vietnam Travel Info: Complete Vietnam Tourist Visa Information

To travel to Vietnam, the travelers must have to obtain a Visa from the Vietnam diplomatic Mission Abroad unless the travelers hold the passport of the Visa Exempt Countries or eligible for an Electronic Visa(E-Visa).

Vietnam Visa Exempt Country

Vietnam Visa Exemption Certificate

Regardless of Nationality, the holder of Visa Exemption Certificates is eligible for Visa Exemption. The Certificate is issued to Vietnamese residing abroad or spouses or children of Vietnamese citizens or Vietnamese residing abroad. The Certificate is valid for 5 years or 6 months before the Passport Expiry whichever is shorter. The visa exemption is provided to the certificate of Visa Exemption holder for up to 180 consecutive days of stay with multiple entries with no limit numbers of places to visit.

Phú Quốc Island

Travelers who are not exempted from Visa Requirement can still visit Phú Quốc without a visa for up to30 days. For this facility, the travelers must have to arrive in Phú Quốc directly from a third country or from airports in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh where they can clear immigration and proceed to the domestic terminals.

E-Visa

Vietnam has introduced a Pilot Electronic Visa System available from 1st February 2017. The following 81 countries and territories are eligible for E-Visa for up to 30 days and are non-extendable. The Application charge for E-Visa is US$25.

As per the notice of 14/3/2020, E-Visa to the holder of Schengen Area, Uk and Ireland is suspended until further notice.

Pre-arranged Visa/ Visa On Arrival/ Online Visa

Any travelers holding the Visa Letter issued and got stamps in Hanoi or Da Nang or Ho Chi Minh City by the Vietnamese Immigration Department within the Ministry of Public Security or the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the Government of Vietnam can obtain a visa for a maximum stay of 1 or 3 months. Such a Visa is granted at the airports in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Phu Quoc, Hai Phong, Da Lat, or Nha Trang.

Unlike the E-Visa, Pre Arranged Visa or Visa On Arrival is granted to everyone entering Vietnam by Air and also extendable.

The Vietnam On arrival Visa Fee US$ 25. The travelers can Pay with USD or Vietnamese Dong. 

APEC Business Travel Card

Holders of Passport of the following countries who are members of APEC and possess APEC Business Travel Card containing "VNM" on the back of the card are eligible for Visa-Free Business travel for up to 60 Days.
